"Thanks to the Labor Productivity project, Biochemik is today a more modern and high–performance enterprise than at the start of the program, one of the largest manufacturers of injectable dosage forms, a wide portfolio of drugs to combat COVID-19 and its consequences, as well as one of the most attractive employers in the region," said the executive Director. Dmitry Zemskov, Director of Promomed Group Biochemist JSC, speaking at the conference "Industrial Culture: a new Model for the Sustainable Development of the Moscow Economy."

Promomed, with its production site, the Biochemist plant, joined the circle of participants in the priority national project "Increasing labor productivity and employment support" at the end of 2018. This was a continuation of the company's investment strategy for the reconstruction and modernization of production.

During the six months of the project, we conducted diagnostics of current production processes, identified deviations and problems, mapped processes and created algorithms for actions, and drew up an action plan to eliminate production losses that do not require financial investments. A year later, we achieved a 23% reduction in production cycle time, 65% reduction in production losses, and 25% increase in productivity.

The achieved successes have become an incentive for further implementation of the lean manufacturing system in other areas. In particular, it was possible to double the productivity of the tablets and capsules section – up to 420 million units per year.

Participation in the project has become a guarantee of stability for every employee.

The production culture has improved, working conditions have improved and ergonomic workplaces have been created. The company has established a production system development department that replicates knowledge about time management and lean manufacturing. Most of the employees have been trained, and several people have been certified as internal trainers.

Dmitry Zemskov spoke about this and other details of the project during the business conference "Industrial Culture: a new model for the sustainable development of the Moscow economy." The event was attended by Andrey Ivanov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Kirill Purtov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow, Nikolai Solomon, Director General of ANO FCK, and representatives of medium and large businesses. During the event, participants shared their best practices in improving labor productivity and lean manufacturing.
