On August 17, as part of a working trip to Mordovia, Magomedsalam Magomedov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, got acquainted with the industrial potential of the republic by visiting the Biochemik and Optical Fiber Systems plants.

At Biochemistry, Magomedsalam Magomedov was shown a high-tech site for the production of tablets and capsules with a capacity of 1 billion tablets per year, which produces original medicines that have undergone a full cycle of research — antiviral, antitumor, endocrinological and neurological. This is one of the most modern production facilities in Europe, using vacuum transfer technologies and manufacturing multilayer and composite tablets produced in conditions of photosensitivity and zero humidity.

The Biochemist plant, part of the Promomed group of companies, implements a full cycle of pharmaceutical production – from the molecule to the finished dosage form, ensuring national drug safety.

Magomedsalam Magomedov also visited the Optical Fiber Systems plant. This is the only enterprise in Russia with serial production of optical fiber. The production capacity of 4 million kilometers of optical fiber makes it possible to meet more than 50% of the total optical fiber needs of Russian cable plants and 100% for government procurement purposes.
In 2022, Optical Fiber Systems crossed the mark of 10 million kilometers of fiber produced.

The basic scenario for the expansion of optical fiber production is the construction of a preform plant with an increase in production capacity to 10 million kilometers of optical fiber per year, which will fully meet the needs of the Russian market. The project was supported by President Vladimir Putin, and work is currently underway on project documentation and financing options.
