PROMOMED company presents the drug Migrenium® Neo is used to treat headaches, migraines, menstrual pain (algodismenorrhea) and other types of pain. The combination of ibuprofen in a dosage of 400 mg and caffeine 100 mg allows you to achieve a complex effect: ibuprofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, and caffeine enhances the analgesic effect of ibuprofen, contributing to a faster and more pronounced result.
Severe headache, which is not immediately and completely stopped at an early stage, can last up to 72 hours, significantly reducing the quality of life and directly affecting labor productivity. In addition, it often causes temporary disability, which causes economic damage estimated at tens of billions of rubles annually.
Migraine occupies a special place among the diseases accompanied by headache. In Russia, it affects about 20.8% of the adult population, which is almost 30 million people. This is one of the highest rates in the world.
The search for effective and modern approaches to solving such a serious medical and social problem is an important direction for the pharmaceutical industry. One of them is the development of effective combination drugs, which include the new Migrenium® Neo.
Natalia Voropai, PhD, a neurologist of the highest category, noted that the combination of ibuprofen and caffeine shows good results in the treatment of migraines. Caffeine accelerates the absorption of ibuprofen into the blood, which allows you to achieve analgesic effect much faster.:
"The advantage of the combined drug lies in the synergistic effect: to achieve a pronounced analgesic effect, a lower dose of each of the active substances is required. Ibuprofen, as the drug of first choice, is included in the list of analgesics recommended by WHO and the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS) for the treatment of mild and moderate migraine attacks, and caffeine, being a compound of natural origin, has its own analgesic effect and enhances pain relief when taken together with other drugs. According to a meta-analysis of 30 clinical studies, caffeine increases the effectiveness of other components of the drug by an average of 40%[1]. It is very important to stop a migraine attack as early as possible, when the first symptoms appear."
According to scientific research, approximately one in five people with migraine attacks is diagnosed with concomitant diseases of the cardiovascular system. These include, for example, arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease[2]. These pathologies are a contraindication to the appointment of triptans, one of the most common anti-migraine drugs. With the advent of combination drugs, effective and safe treatment has become available to a wide range of patients.
Kira Zaslavskaya, Director of New Products at PROMOMED:
"According to WHO, more than half of the world's population suffers from headaches on a regular basis. In addition to a serious decrease in the quality of life, this condition leads to a decrease in working capacity, and is also a risk factor for the development of various complications. The development of a new headache drug is aimed at solving this complex problem. We offer solutions that can reduce the burden of pain and make the lives of millions of people easier and brighter."
