Capecitabine-Promomed, used for the treatment of oncological diseases, has received a registration certificate, becoming the first drug in the Promomed Group's cancer portfolio.
The development and production of drugs aimed at the treatment of oncological diseases is an important strategic direction of Promomed Group, focused on solving significant medical problems, saving and significantly improving the quality of life of patients.
"The development of the oncology field requires super efforts from the entire team - this includes expansion of production, staff development, and, of course, huge scientific and research activities. Part of this path has already been completed, the first results and the first registration have been received," he notedPeter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group.
Capecitabine is a first-line drug in the treatment of stomach and colon cancer and is widely used to treat breast cancer resistant to other types of chemotherapy.
It has a selective antitumor effect, mainly on the affected cells, while the effect on healthy organ tissues is minimal. Due to the quality of the substance and modern production technologies, Promomed provides high efficiency and an improved safety profile of medicines.
"In oncotherapy, drug safety is a significant reserve for improvement. Starting with the second line of chemotherapy, the adverse events associated with the use of drugs begin to compete with, or even exceed, the therapeutic benefits. Accordingly, if we improve the tolerability of drugs in patients, more patients can be cured or increase their life expectancy with proper quality," he sharedPeter the White.
Capecitabine Promomed will be available in the form of film-coated tablets, 150 and 500 mg, which corresponds to the required intake regimens. The drug is included in the list of VED.
