The drug Areplivir, which is included in the guidelines of the Russian Ministry of Health for the treatment of COVID-19, has been registered in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On August 4, 2021, the drug Areplivir (Favipiravir), developed by Promomed and manufactured at the Biochemik plant (part of the Promomed group of companies), was registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Areplivir has a direct antiviral effect. According to the results of clinical trials in 2020, which took place in five Russian medical institutions under the leadership of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, this drug has proven to be highly effective and safe, preventing the transition of coronavirus infection to a severe form. At the moment, Areplivir is recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the treatment of COVID-19 of any severity.

In September 2020, Promomed Group was one of the first companies in Russia to receive a permanent registration certificate for a drug against the SARS-COV-2 virus, which made it possible to use the drug on an outpatient basis. Almost immediately, Areplivir was included in the methodological recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, and by order of the Government of the Russian Federation from 21.10.2020 it was included in the list of vital and essential medicines (VED).

Compliance of the Biochemist production complex with the requirements of the uniform rules of good Manufacturing Practice of the Eurasian Economic Union, which is confirmed by the GMP certificate, will allow Promomed Group to carry out regular supplies of Areplivir in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

"The registration of Areplivir, recommended by the Russian Ministry of Health for the treatment of COVID-19, in Uzbekistan is an important step for us. I am proud that we can contribute to the fight against the pandemic not only in our country, but also to help neighboring countries," commented Maxim Smagin, CEO of Promomed Group.
