Recommended dose
The recommended total dose of the drug Cladribine is 3.5 mg / kg of human body weight for 2 years: 1.75 mg / kg per 1 course of treatment per year. The annual course of therapy consists of 2 weeks of treatment: one week at the beginning of the 1st month and one week at the beginning of the 2nd month of the corresponding treatment year.
Each week of treatment consists of 4 or 5 days, during which the drug is taken once a day at a dose of 10 mg or 20 mg (one or two tablets), depending on the patient's body weight.
The calculation of the dose and amount of the drug depending on human body weight is presented in Tables 1 and 2 below.
After completing 2 annual courses of treatment, further administration of the drug during the 3rd and 4th years is not required.
The resumption of treatment after 4 years has not been studied.
If necessary, the 2nd annual course of treatment can be postponed for up to 6 months until an acceptable number of lymphocytes is restored (for medical reasons). If the recovery period of the lymphocyte count takes more than 6 months, the use of the drug Cladribine should be discontinued.
